Signing Up

How can I join the Survey Exchange?

Currently the Survey Exchange panel is invitation only.

Does it cost anything?

No. Sharing your opinions is always free to you! There is no charge for you to join, and there is no cost to you anytime after you join. You will never be asked to buy anything. Actually, you will even be rewarded for each survey you take!

Can two people from the same household join Survey Exchange?
No.  Survey Exchange is limited to one account per household.

Can I create several accounts with different email addresses?

No. In order to provide our clients with the best research possible, we limit membership to one account per person.  We reserve the right to use a number of identification and verification techniques to verify the accuracy and uniqueness of your account.  If you manage to create more than one account (voluntarily or by mistake), we reserve the right to suspend one or all of your accounts without any notice. 

Privacy

Will you use my personal information for other purposes than market research?

No. When you sign up, we will never share your identity or email address with any other company. Your personal information will always remain confidential. Click here to view our privacy statement.

Rewards

Explain the Sweepstakes and Points and Rewards Programs.

Panelists outside the United States and Canada will be rewarded using the Click and Buy payment system (Details to follow).

Whenever you participate in a survey, you get two benefits. First, just for starting the survey, you receive an entry in our regular Sweepstakes drawings. Then, when you complete the survey, you will receive Points that you can redeem for great prizes or donations to your favorite charity! So, you have two different ways to win every time you participate in a survey.

How do I sign up for the Sweepstakes or Points Programs?

There is nothing else you have to do besides completing the registration questionnaire. Once you have registered, you are automatically enrolled in the Points program and you will start getting Sweepstakes entries and additional Points every time you complete a survey!

When do Points expire?

There is no expiration of points as long as you remain an active member. If you unsubscribe or are deactivated, you lose your points.  You need to participate in at least one survey every six months to be considered an active member.

How do I earn Points?

There are several ways to earn points:
• Completing surveys - Whenever you are invited to complete a survey, it’s an opportunity to add to your point total. Each survey has a different point value, depending on how long they are, but completing surveys is the fastest way to build your point total!
• Trying to complete surveys - As you know, all our survey have qualification criteria. If you don’t qualify and cannot take the survey, don’t worry. We will give you the opportunity to qualify for a new survey. And if you still can’t qualify, we will still give you some points to thank you for trying.
• Entering sweepstakes. Every time to attempt to take a survey, you are entered into our quarterly sweepstakes

When do I get my Points?

Points will be added to your account automatically when any activity occurs for which you should earn points. All point totals are processed and updated overnight and new point totals are posted each morning. For example, points earned today for completing a survey would show up in your account tomorrow morning.

How do I see what prizes are available and redeem my points?

When you login to your account, click on the “ My earned points” menu option. It will show if you have opted for the “$5 Reward Choice” or the “$10 Reward Choice” system. If you want to change your system, just click on “ Change your choice of payment”. To redeem the “$5 Reward Choice” reward you need 4500 points, you need 8000 points for the “$10 Reward Choice” reward.

How can I see my account balance history?

Once you are logged in, please choose “My earned points” or “My earned rewards” in the member area main menu. This selection displays your points summary and earned and redeemed transactions. Note that only transactions that took place after April 6, 2007, will show.

What if I didn’t receive any credit for participating in a contest or survey?

Please try hitting the “refresh” button at the top of your Internet browser window. If your points still do not appear, please contact us to let us know so that we may credit you with the missing points, if necessary.

Do you have a referral program?

At this time the Survey Exchange panel is invitation only and we do not have a referral program.

What are the odds of winning the quarterly sweepstakes?

Odds are determined by how many entries each person gets (one for each click) and how many entries there are overall (total number of clicks) during the quarterly.

How do you select the winner? How do you contact him/her?

Winners are drawn randomly. Sweepstakes winners will be notified via email. Sweepstakes winners must reply back to notification email within a specified period of time as mentioned in the notification email in order to confirm winners’ email address.

Do you get an entry when you join?

No, you only get an entry when you click on an invitation message to go to a survey.

Can you delete one of my accounts and transfer the points to another one?

You are only allowed to have one account. If you have more than one account, please unsubscribe one of your accounts. Points are non-transferable between two accounts: you will lose the points in the other account.

Technical Requirements

What software or hardware do I need to take a survey?

Our surveys work with PC, Mac and Linux computers and operating systems and are designed to be 100% compatible with all browsers. Provided that you make sure that your browser is set to accept cookies and javascript.  Many of our surveys also include video, so we recommend downloading and installing the latest version of Flash.

Do you support non-IE browsers such as Firefox and Opera?

At this time, our surveys are designed to be 100% compatible with all browsers. However, from time to time clients may offer proprietary media for which they set their own technical requirements.


Do you support Macintosh?

Yes, our surveys work with Safari, Firefox and other browsesr designed for apple computers.

Are your surveys compatible with WebTV?

No.

When I tried to log in to see my account balance, I received the error ““Your login has expired or your browser doesn’t accept cookies”. What does this mean?

Our site requires that you accept a cookie from the third party Cint in order to login. If your Internet browser does not accept third party cookies, you will see a “timed out” or “Your login has expired or your browser doesn’t accept cookies” error. This error will be fixed as soon as possible. In the meantime, see below how to lower your privacy settings on Internet Explorer in order to accept third party cookies: In Internet Explorer, go to Tools / Internet Options. Choose the “Privacy” tab. Lower the privacy level to “low” or “accept all cookies”. Close Internet Explorer and reload the page http://www.surveyexchange.com/signin.htm. Another option was suggested by a member: under the privacy tab, with security set at medium, click on the “sites” button. Type in http://surveyexchange.com. Click on the “allow” button. Please contact us if it doesn’t work.

Unsubscribe

How do I discontinue my membership with Survey Exchange?

Login to your member profile, and click on the “unsubscribe” link.

Password

I forgot my password.

You can retrieve your password at any time. Just click on “sign in” and follow the instructions. Your password will be sent by email.

How do I change my email address/username/password?

You can change your username or password on your member profile. Sign in, click on “my personal information” and edit your information. For security reasons, if you need to change your email address, please email us from the address registered with the Survey Exchange to inform us of your new email address.

Completing a survey

How long do I have to complete a survey?

We close surveys after we have reached our quota of panelists. Quota size is different for each survey. Some surveys, because of a popular topic or great reward, close very quickly (sometimes in a few hours), while others stay open for up to a week. If you would really like to participate in a survey, we suggest you take it as soon as possible. We also recommend that you register using an email address that you check regularly.

Why do I never qualify for surveys?

It could be any number of problems that you are dealing with ranging from not having cookies enabled, your system may have just timed out or reloaded each time, we may have reached our quota for that particular survey (i.e. we needed 1000 people and you were 1001 or higher), you may not have qualified for the survey based upon the demographics we may be looking for at the time, etc.  To increase your chances to qualify for a survey, make sure to keep your profile detailed and up to date.


I spent a long time answering many questions and then was told that I don’t qualify.

Sometimes it takes well into the survey questions for the system to figure out whether or not you qualify to continue to complete the survey. We understand how frustrating that can be, and hope that this will not deter you from taking surveys with us in the future.

Why did I get an “Invalid Survey” message?

Each survey has a certain amount of required participants and after that number has been reached, it then becomes “invalid” and closes. So, it is definitely to your advantage to take the survey as soon as you receive it. The good news is that we have surveys going out several days a week so you are sure to be receiving another one again very soon!
